The school was established in 1930 and it is managed by the Department of Education. It is located in rural area. It is situated at a distance of about 5 km. from the Block HQ. It is located in EDAPPAL block of MALAPPURAM district of KERALA. The school consists of Grades from 1 to 7. The school is co-educational and it does not have an attached pre-primary section. The school is non-residential in nature and is not using school building as a shift-school. During the previous academic year, the school functioned for 194 days. It had 1 academic inspection and was not visited by the CRC Coordinator during the previous academic year. It was 7 times visited by the BRC Coordinator. Malayalam is the medium of instructions in this school.

The school has 2 building blocks which are housed in a Government building. It has got 9 classrooms for instructional purposes. All the classrooms are in good condition. It has 3 other rooms for non-teaching activities. The school does not have a seperate room for Head master/Teacher.

The school has a book-bank and has 2900 books in its library. The school arranged medical check-up for its students during the previous academic year. It has got ramp for the disabled children. The school has got 12 blackboards for the use of teachers but it does not have blackboard at the ground level for the use of children. The school has got 8 computers. The school is having a computer aided learning lab. The school hasn't received the one time Kitchen Devices Grant. The school is providing Mid-day meal & it is prepared in the school premises.

Mr./Ms. RAJAN E is the Head Master/Teacher of school .The school has 12 regular teachers in position against a sanctioned strength of 12 posts. The school has 10 female teachers. It has no Para-Teacher. The school has 2 non-teaching staff. Precisely, 7 teachers of school are having graduate and above degrees. On the other hand, 13 teachers have professional certification(s)/degree(s). The Pupil-Teacher Ratio (PTR) of the school is 25:1 and the Student-Classroom Ratio (SCR), 33:1. On an average, about 33 students sit in one classroom which sounds comfortable.

Enrolment
The total enrolment of school is 300, out of which boys' enrolment is 146 (48.7 per cent) and girls' enrolment, 154 (51.3 per cent). The SC enrolment is 40 (13.3 per cent), ST enrolment, zero and OBC enrolment, 232 (77.3 per cent). A total of 6 (4.1 per cent) boys and 5 (3.2 per cent) girls repeated elementary grades during the previous academic year. The school has 18 disabled children.
Incentives to Students
A number of incentives such as free textbooks (62 students), stationery (0 students), uniform (0 students) and attendance scholarship (0 students) were provided to students during the previous academic year.
School Examinations
Of the total students appeared in Grade IV examination, 100 per cent passed the examination. All the Students passed the examination with 60 per cent and above marks. Of the total students appeared in Grade VII examination, 86 per cent passed the examination. The percentage of such boys and girls were 100 and 83 per cent respectively. About 17 per cent students passed the examination with 60 per cent and above marks.
